It's been a couple of weeks since Netflix's hit roast of Tom Brady, but the night's undisputed heavyweight champ, Nikki Glaser, is still unpacking it.

Glaser shared why she thought Ben Affleck "bombed" during his time at the podium, in which he was supposed to be skewering his former New England Patriot pal.

"He didn't prepare," Glaser told Barstool Sports' KFC Radio podcast.

"He's someone who's famous enough that he thinks that this is probably beneath [him] to do this," she said, speculating that Ben thought, "'I'm just gonna do a favor. It's not going to be that big of a deal.'"

Affleck's set was dubbed a "train wreck" by some online snarkers — who, incidentally, became the focus of Ben's "self-centered" set, Glaser said.

Affleck gave a mirthless tirade against online trolls instead of focusing on Brady. "You guys out there talking s*** behind your f****** keyboard, that doesn't make you a fan, that makes you a b****," the actor said in part.

Glaser offered that the normally "brilliant" Affleck either "didn't work hard enough" on it "or he just picked a bad premise and then he had to stick to it the whole time."

In a separate interview, Nikki also unpacked the booing suffered by roaster Kim Kardashian — an audience reaction that was edited by Netflix after the live event.

For one thing, Swifties weren't behind it, Glaser told the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast on Tuesday. In spite of Taylor Swift's reported feud with Kardashian, Nikki blamed "a wild guy who's a comedian" who was just "starting s***."

"He just had too many drinks or something, and he's not affiliated with Swifties or anything [and] just felt like saying a boo into the air, and apparently everyone was so riled up [they followed]," Nikki said.

Elvis Presley’s eldest granddaughter, actress Riley Keough, is fighting to keep Elvis' legendary Memphis home, Graceland, from going on the auction block.

According to legal documents, a company called Naussany Investments & Private Lending has claimed that Elvis' only child, Lisa Marie Presley, borrowed $3.8 million from them, putting up Graceland as collateral, and then didn’t pay them back.

Naussany then put a lien on the iconic home and its grounds, and scheduled an auction of the property for May 23 — but Riley went to court to put a stop to it.

Riley's lawyers argue in her suit that Lisa Marie never borrowed money from Naussany and the company “appears to be a false entity created for the purpose of defrauding" Lisa Marie's heirs, Promenade Trust, which is the company that owns Graceland, and anyone who may purchase Graceland in its auction. It also claims that any documents claiming Lisa Marie took out a loan are forgeries.

A judge has issued a temporary restraining order on the sale, with a hearing on the matter scheduled for Wednesday.

Elvis purchased Graceland in 1957. It was turned into a museum after his death, drawing visitors from all over the world. Each year on August 16, the anniversary of Elvis' death, they hold a candlelit vigil in his honor.

Oscar winner Holly Hunter has joined the cast of Paramount+'s forthcoming Star Trek series Starfleet Academy.

The Piano veteran will star as the captain and chancellor of the titular academy at which young recruits train to someday boldly go where no one has gone before.

The series gets underway later in the summer of 2024.

According to Paramount+, the forthcoming show "introduces viewers to a young group of cadets who come together to pursue a common dream of hope and optimism. Under the watchful and demanding eyes of their instructors, they discover what it takes to become Starfleet officers as they navigate blossoming friendships, explosive rivalries, first loves and a new enemy that threatens both the Academy and the Federation itself."

In the announcement, co-showrunners Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau enthused, "It feels like we've spent our entire lives watching Holly Hunter be a stone-cold genius. To have her extraordinary authenticity, fearlessness, sense of humor, and across the board brilliance leading the charge on Starfleet Academy is a gift to all of us, and to the enduring legacy of Star Trek."

Prime Video has just dropped the trailer to My Lady Jane, a buzzy new alternative history series that seems to have all the ingredients for a new Bridgerton-esque bodice ripper: there's literal palace intrigue, salty language and, of course, sex.

"My Lady Jane is a radical retelling of English royal history, in which King Henry VIII's son Edward does not die of tuberculosis, Lady Jane Grey is not beheaded, and neither is her scoundrel of a husband Guildford," Prime Video teases. 

Calling it "an epic tale of true love and high adventure," the streamer continues: "At the center of this swashbuckling new series is the brilliant and headstrong Jane (newcomer Emily Bader), who is shocked to be crowned queen and finds herself the target of nefarious villains coming for the crown (and her head)."

Starring opposite her is Killing Eve's Edward Bluemel, Pirates veteran Jordan Peters and Preacher's Dominic Cooper as Lord Seymour, one of the plotters.

All eight episodes of the show debut on June 27.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson hasn't exactly been known to be a chameleon through his movie career — even his Moana character looks like him, down to some of his famous tattoos — but a new peek at his latest project changes that.

Johnson has reteamed with his Jungle Cruise co-star Emily Blunt for The Smashing Machine, a biopic of mixed martial arts trailblazer Mark Kerr that was directed by Uncut Gems veteran, and Blunt's Oppenheimer co-star, Benny Safdie.

In the photo posted by independent studio A24 to commemorate the first day of shooting, Johnson is shown as Kerr, sitting in the corner of an MMA ring mid-fight, as Blunt looks up at him from outside the ring; she plays Kerr's wife, Dawn Staples.

Johnson is sporting a sweaty mop of black hair on his famously bald head, his tats have been covered and, most strikingly, he's sporting facial prosthetics emulating Kerr's more blunt features.

According to IMDB, the artists behind the look were Glen P. Griffin, who also worked on Oppenheimer, and Kazu Hiro, who helped transform Gary Oldman into Winston Churchill for the actor's Oscar-winning performance in 2017's The Darkest Hour.

The Rock forwarded the photo to his socials.

Hours before, he posted a video of some of his training in mixed martial arts, including a throw of an opponent and a headlock submission.

"Working hard and feeling good about my progress so far, but far from satisfied," he captioned the video.

"Approaching this as a total student of the game, absorbing and learning as much as I can, day by day. It’s my absolute honor to pay respect and homage to @UFC ... Mark Kerr and all the founding fathers of MMA," Johnson wrote.

He may be famous for showing off some massive portions in his long running Food Network show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, but Guy Fieri has been cutting back -- and cut weight as a result. 

The self-appointed Mayor of Flavortown tells Men's Health he's now 30 pounds lighter, a journey he began during the COVID-19 pandemic with the help of personal trainer Scott Butler.

Guy credits Butler's intense workout routine inspired by military training as well as a change in the chef's diet. 

"Once I started getting more serious about that, the quantity of food I was eating, and exercise, it really changed the whole thing," Fieri told the outlet about his intermittent fasting diet. "It wasn't as gnarly as you might think," adding, "I'm not a big breakfast fan."

Butler put him through a combination of fitness regimes including rucking and high-intensity interval training, as well as a daily cold plunge and getting into a sauna.

Rucking involves walking or running while carrying a backpack of weights or a weighted vest. Fieri said he rucks the hills near his house a few times a week.

A clinical trial published by the National Library of Medicine also found that participants who wore weighted vests for eight hours a day for three weeks without doing any physical activities experienced some weight loss compared to those who didn't wear the vests.

Like any other fitness routine or diet, it's best to consult with your physician or physical therapist before using a weighted vest.

HBO has greenlit a yet-to-be titled, 10-episode comedy series starring Steve Carell. The single-camera series from Ted Lasso showrunner Bill Lawrence and Scrubs producer Matt Tarses, is set on a college campus and centers on "an author's complicated relationship with his daughter," per the premium cable channel. "The combination of Steve Carell and Bill Lawrence promises to be full of great laughs, warmth, and charm. We're thrilled to be the home for this long overdue collaboration," Amy Gravitt, executive vice president, HBO & Max Comedy Programming, said in a statement.

Warner Bros. Pictures has set a September 21 premiere date for the documentary Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story, followed by an encore presentation on the late actor’s birthday, September 25, according to Deadline. Using never-before-seen home movies and personal archive material, the film chronicles Reeve's career, which most notably included playing the Man of Steel in four Superman films between 1978 and 1987, the tragic horse-riding accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down, and his activism on behalf of finding a cure for spinal cord injuries and disability rights. Reeve died in 2004 at the age of 52.

Paramount+ has tapped Genesis Rodriguez for the second season of Lioness, according to Variety. The Umbrella Academy actress will play Captain Josephina Carrillo, "a dedicated soldier with a fierce personality" and "a skilled helicopter pilot," per the outlet. Rodriguez joins Zoe Saldaña, Laysla De Oliveira, Nicole Kidman, Michael Kelly and Morgan Freeman, the last of whom will be a regular in season 2.

Jason Momoa and his girlfriend Adria Arjona are Instagram official!

The Aquaman star confirmed the relationship in a post about his recent trip to Japan in which he referred to the 32-year-old actress as "Mi amor."

"Japan, you are a dream come true you blew my mind. we're so thankful for everyone who opened their homes, making memories with new friends and old friends, sharing another amazing adventure with mi amor," Momoa, 44, captioned a series of photos, some of which included Arjona. "ON THE ROAM motorcycles and mayhem. All my aloha j."

Momoa and Arjona, who starred alongside each other in the 2021 film Sweet Girl, have been mum about their relationship.

Momoa and Lisa Bonet ended their seven-year marriage in January. they share two children -- Lola, 16, and Nakoa Wolf, 15.

Scarlett Johansson is not happy that OpenAI used a voice eerily similar to hers for the newest version of its ChatGPT system.

The company recently announced they were pausing the use of the its voice-enabled chatbot, Sky, after users pointed out its similarity to Johansson's voice. Now, in a statement issued by her publicist to ABC News, Johansson says OpenAI founder Sam Altman actually contacted her in September about using her voice but she declined their offer, “after much consideration and for personal reasons.”

She says she was “shocked, angered and in disbelief,” when she heard the newly released Sky demo, noting that the voice was so similar to hers that, she says, “my closest friends and news outlets could not tell the difference.” She noted that Altman "insinuated that the similarity was intentional" because he posted the word "her" to X, referring to Johansson's 2014 movie Her, in which she voiced a similar chat system. 

Scarlett adds that before the ChatGPT launch, her agent was contacted about reconsidering her decision, but the system went live before she even responded.  

“As a result of their actions, I was forced to hire legal counsel, who wrote two letters to Mr. Altman and OpenAI, setting out what they had done and asking them to detail the exact process by which they created the 'Sky' voice,” she says. “Consequently, OpenAI reluctantly agreed to take down the 'Sky' voice."
 

“In a time when we are all grappling with deepfakes and the protection of our own likeness, our own work, our own identities, I believe these are questions that deserve absolute clarity," she concludes. “I look forward to resolution in the form of transparency and the passage of appropriate legislation to help ensure that individual rights are protected."

In a statement, Altman denied that Sky was based on Johansson's voice, adding, "It was never intended to resemble hers."

"We cast the voice actor behind Sky’s voice before any outreach to Ms. Johansson," the statement continued. "Out of respect for Ms. Johansson, we have paused using Sky’s voice in our products. We are sorry to Ms. Johansson that we didn’t communicate better."

This summer’s upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, thus making it the first Deadpool movie to be a Disney film.

In a new interview with Fandango, star Ryan Reynolds said he couldn’t believe what Disney allowed him and director Shawn Levy to get away with for this latest installment with the raunchy superhero.

“I hope it doesn’t sound condescending, I’m really proud of them for doing this. I think it’s a huge step for them,” Reynolds said. “I mean, it adds a whole other color to this kaleidoscopic wheel that is that company and the different people that they have been entertaining forever.”

Deadpool & Wolverine is the first R-rated film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not only was Reynolds proud of Disney for allowing the film to have a hard R rating, but he says he was surprised.

“I was surprised though, that they let us go as hard R, but very grateful. I mean there’s no other way to do it,” Reynolds said. “[The R rating] really [allowed] us to do anything and everything in a world where anything and everything is possible.”

Deadpool & Wolverine comes to theaters everywhere on July 26.

Jerry Bruckheimer has a promising update for Pirates of the Caribbean fans: He expects two new films to set sail soon.

The longtime producer of the Pirates of the Caribbean films told Entertainment Weekly he hopes to reboot the franchise and make a standalone film in the universe from Margot Robbie.

“It's two different movies,” Bruckheimer said. “We hope to get 'em both made, and I think Disney agrees they really want to make the Margot one, too,” Bruckheimer says.

Bruckheimer adds he’d produce the film that would kick off the new reboot, with a script from Jeff Nathanson, who wrote the upcoming Young Woman and the Sea. The second film would be from Robbie’s team, with a script by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson.

Bruckheimer says while the reboot would not follow characters from the original series, such as Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow, he would support them returning.

“It's a reboot, but if it was up to me, he would be in it,” Bruckheimer said. “I love him. He's a good friend. He's an amazing artist and he's a unique look. He created Captain Jack. That was not on the page, that was him doing a little Pepé Le Pew and Keith Richards. That was his interpretation of Jack Sparrow.”

While less is known about Robbie’s Pirates film, she did give a sneak peek as to what one could expect from it in a 2022 Vanity Fair cover story.

“We had an idea and we were developing it for a while, ages ago, to have more of a female-led — not totally female-led, but just a different kind of story — which we thought would've been really cool, but I guess they don't want to do it,” Robbie said at the time.

The Duttons have headed back to the ranch for one last rodeo.

Yellowstone has started production on its final episodes, Paramount Network announced on Monday. The series, which will return for the second half of its fifth and final season in November, is currently filming in Montana. This final part of Taylor Sheridan’s megahit series will be made up of six episodes.

The show, of course, follows the Dutton family, which controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. It covers the almost constant conflict the ranch faces with everything that it borders, including an expanding town, a Native American reservation and America’s first national park.

The first half of season 5 aired from November 2022 to January 2023. Production on this final installment was delayed due to the dual WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes in 2023.

OpenAI is pausing the use of an emotive voice on its newest version of ChatGPT that sounded suspiciously like Scarlett Johansson.

Users noticed that the voice, called Sky, sounded like Johansson, who famously played the voice of an emotive AI in the 2013 sci-fi drama Her. During the demo of the new offering, OpenAI founder Sam Altman posted “her” on social platform X, fueling more questions about the voice’s origins.

OpenAI now says it is pausing the use of Sky while it addresses “questions about how we chose the voices in ChatGPT.” In a blog post shared Monday, the company said the voice used was not meant to mimic Johansson's.

“We believe that AI voices should not deliberately mimic a celebrity’s distinctive voice — Sky’s voice is not an imitation of Scarlett Johansson but belongs to a different professional actress using her own natural speaking voice,” it reads. “To protect their privacy, we cannot share the names of our voice talents.”

This all comes after the voice was joked about on the season 49 finale of Saturday Night Live.

The May 18 episode included a staple of recent finales — the joke swap tradition between Weekend Update hosts and head writers Michael Che and Colin Jost.

As part of the swap, the comedians read jokes the other had prepared for them, without any kind of a heads-up. It can be a dangerous game, as Jost — who is married to Johansson — found out when he read a joke about his wife that Che had written.

“ChatGPT has released a new voice assistant feature inspired by Scarlett Johansson's AI character in Her," Jost said. “Which I've never bothered to watch, because without that body, what's the point of listening?”

John Stamos honored his late Full House co-star Bob Saget on May 17, on what would have been Saget's 68th birthday.  "Bob was the heart of our “Full House” family. Sony Pictures announced July 18, 2025, as the release date for its I Know What You Did Last Summer remake, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The 1997 film, about a group of teenagers stalked by a killer one year after a fatal accident on their graduation night, grossed $125 million worldwide and helped launch Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr.'s careers, as well as those of Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe. John Krazinski's live-action CGI fantasy comedy IF topped the domestic box office with an estimated $35 million opening weekend -- slightly below the $40 million it was expected to take in.

The film -- starring Ryan Reynolds and Cailey Fleming, and featuring the voices of Steve Carell, Matt Damon, Maya Rudolph, Bradley Cooper and George Clooney -- is about a girl who can see people's imaginary friends. It opened in France and Belgium last week. After expanding to more international markets this weekend, it added an estimated $20 million, for total earnings of $59 million worldwide.

Last week's number one film, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, dropped to second place, earning an estimated $26 million, pushing its North American tally past $100 million. It also took in an estimated $40.6 million overseas, for a total global haul of $237.5 million.

Third place went to the horror film The Strangers: Chapter 1, which beat expectations with an estimated $12 million North American debut.

The Fall Guy took fourth place, delivering an estimated $8.1 million at the domestic box office, for a three-week total of $63 million. Internationally, the Ryan Gosling/Emily Blunt-led action film collected an estimated $7.2 million, for a worldwide total of $64.6 million.

Rounding out the top five was Challengers, with an estimated $2.9 million in North America. As of Sunday evening, it held a narrow lead over the Amy Winehouse biopic Back to Black. The latter earned an estimated $2.85 million in its opening weekend.
